It has been a real pleasure to be working at The Salon once again - and having the chance to catch up with all the changes that have occurred since my marriage last year to Le Duc de D’or Baleine, and my relocation to Monte Carlo. .
One of the most exciting developments has been Lady Amanda Barclay’s employment of the [in]famous influencer “Beaker” as our new receptionist/maid, filling the exact same role that Lady Amanda - now Duchess of Linlithgow - occupied when she was just plain old Mandy Danvers.
Beaker - as you probably recall - became famous overnight as a contestant on various reality TV shows, whilst still in her mid teens. She had a winning way of asking celebrities and politicians awkward questions, and then insulting them when they refused to give a straight answer. She now has a mega-popular YouTube channel – currently known as “Beaker – Only 19 Years Old!!!” - on which she comments on the issues of the day from a Goth/Emo/Gonzo-Feminist perspective. Check it out!
Beaker is working as Receptionist at The Salon as part of her research for a web TV series and accompanying book deal that will feature her commenting on the sexual mores of the rich and powerful in today’s topsy-turvy world. With her chalk-white make-up, jet black hair, scarlet lipstick and steampunk dresses, she is a striking presence in our lounge area! Apparently, Lady Amanda has invited Beaker on several occasions to “jump right in and experience Salon life for herself”… but so far Beaker is content just to answer the door, book appointments for our girls, and serve our spent clients their restorative Welsh rarebit and dry sherry…

Exhausted? Well, just a little. The pace of life with the Duke of Burgundy is fast!
The Duke has been putting me through my paces as a potential trophy wife, both in the drawing room and the boudoir. Like both of my previous husbands, the Duke has his own ‘cabinet de voyeur’, from which he watched me in action with several other men. And – at the unending dinner parties and receptions I have been invited to – I was expected to converse in at least six different languages and in an informed and sophisticated manner with selected noblemen, politicians, artists, celebrities and the merely uber-rich.
The visitors in this last category included a certain Monsieur Pierre Collager, the former trusted employee of my late husband Le Duc de D’or Baleine - a gentleman I thought had vanished from the face of the earth. As a fellow suspect for my late husband’s alleged murder, I felt some pangs of empathy with Monsieur Collager. But he remained tight-lipped with me, and I learned little or nothing about his relationship (if any?) with my potential new husband, the Duke of Burgundy.
The plot thickens….

Years ago I bought this french maid outfit from Dream Dresser same model as seen here from their catalog, www.flickr.com/photos/50361847@N04/51861925139 and you CDs know exactly my reaction: I must get this dress. Quality is pretty good, and I can still fit into it nicely. It was available in a variety of colors. I did sew on extra lace along hem of skirt. The petticoat is one from my collection (actually two) for extra fluff.
I have earlier photos of modeling this dress, wore it same day I did photoshoot in Versatile Corsets french maid dress. I also wore this with the pinafore, it really makes the dress hyperfeminine. I forgot where I purchased this from (it was years ago). I modeled this dress same day as when I modeled the , VC is still in business so those of you who do not have this dress, you have to get one for your wardrobe.
What is value besides the quality is this is the classic black and white french maid style instead of this hentai or gothic style that takes away from original intention of sexuality of this dress design (it has nothing to do with house cleaning chores). It seems if a source that sells the classic style, most likely it is some cheap $25 schlock from China. Those outfits are always a waste of money and those always find their way to the landfill.
Dream Dresser went out of business, they had walk in stores in West Hollywood, CA (which opened in 1994) and Georgetown, DC. Much of their sales was catalog mailing and had a variety of outfits of BDSM themes.
It is quite obvious CDs make up the most devoted advocates for the classic french maid dress. Many like to wear it while cleaning, I feel this is totally improper because that is a wasted activity for such a provocative outfit. And cleaning house can easily damage the dress.
For myself the french maid dress is one of the essentials of my wardrobe. It was also one of my first dresses I desired to wear. Like many CDs, I have more than one. I wear the boots because I enjoy the sexual power they give me. Many men don't like the boots, but the ones that do REALLY get turned on when a "woman" wears them.
Sometimes cis women wear the french maid outfit for either parties or as celebrities for promotional photoshoots or a part in a movie.
So, lets say you see a lady in a french maid and is it a she or a he? If lady wearing just the dress, probably a cis woman. If wearing the dress with stockings (not pantyhose), it probably a CD. If wearing the dress with stockings and a petticoat, more likely a CD. If wearing the dress with stockings, with petticoat, and with long gloves, then it's gotta be a CD.

Last year I ordered and received this french maid outfit from Versatile Corsets. Basically same model as sold by Versatile Fashions which was started by Ms. Antoinette in 1977 located in Orange, CA. In 2008 it was sold to Nancy Lynn. Some things were discontinued or changed. However the fitted french maid dress, SKU: m-3070, is still listed and they also provide custom sizing. It can be purchased in variety of colors too. Lead time is 4 to 6 weeks for standard sizes www.versatilecorsets.com/index.php?l=product_detail&p=48
This particular outfit is the classic french maid and these days can be hard to find. Not cheap, $239, but well worth it. Those schlock costume outfits for $30 are total waste of money. "Fitted" is general, mine could use some tailoring but compared to most outfits on the market, this is non-stretchable thick satin. Most outfits are stretchy cheap material, usual cheap crap from China, and with design variations of hentai or punk which abandons the sexuality of this erotic dress design. There may be other places but these can be hard to find as many cheap distributors have taken over search engine results.
